Principal & Practice Manager
Penny McCreery
Meet our Principal, Penny McCreery, who embarked on her legal journey in 2000, starting as a legal secretary and conveyancing clerk. Over the years, she honed her expertise by working with major banks in mortgage conveyancing.

Penny's dedication to her legal career led her to complete her Bachelor of Laws at USQ and her Post Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice at QUT in 2016. In 2017, she was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court.
​
Penny's legal journey took her to regional areas such as Maryborough, Childers, and Bundaberg, where she tackled a diverse range of legal matters, including property law, criminal law, business sales and purchases, family law, and wills & estates.
​
In 2019, Penny made the move back to Brisbane, briefly delving into criminal law again before joining Lember & Williams (now Horizon Legal Group) in 2020. Her commitment to the firm led her to acquire the business in 2022, solidifying her role as a leading legal professional.
​
Today, Penny primarily focuses on mentoring the Horizon team, managing the practice, and donating her time at community speaking events helping to educate the community on important legal topics.
Penny has spoken at various neighbourhood events on the importance of estate planning (including Wills & Enduring Powers of Attorney), Elder Abuse, and Probate & deceased estate administration. If you have an upcoming event, Penny would love to chat with you more about this.
Solicitor
Elisabeth Roeland
Elisabeth is an admitted solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland, a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Sunshine Coast Law Association.
Elisabeth first began her legal career in Rockhampton in 2014 working as an administrative assistant in a criminal law firm. She returned to the Sunshine Coast in 2017 shortly before the birth of her daughter where she truly learnt the art of time management – juggling the demands of full time work, part time studies and solo parenting. Upon her return to the Coast, Elisabeth gained experience in the areas of Wills & Estates, and Family Law before finding her place in Civil Litigation and Disputes in 2021 as a Law Graduate.
Elisabeth joined the team at Horizon Legal Group in late 2023 where she leads our Estate Administration team and practises predominantly in Estate Litigation and Civil Disputes.

Solicitor
Brianna Roe
Brianna Roe holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business (International Business) from the University of the Sunshine Coast and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. Brianna was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2021 and is a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Sunshine Coast Law Association.
Starting her legal journey on the Sunshine Coast in 2021, Brianna advanced from a law graduate to a solicitor focussing on wills, enduring powers of attorney, and succession planning. Brianna also gained experience in estate administration and commercial law.
In May 2024, Brianna joined Horizon Legal Group. Brianna brings a dedication to client-focused solutions and meticulous attention to detail on every matter. Brianna predominantly practises in the areas of estate planning (including complex wills), and business succession planning. She has a particular interest in testamentary trusts and complex estate planning.

Brianna shares her time between our Maleny office and our Caboolture office.

Jessica Sokcic
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business (Management & Marketing) from the University of the Sunshine Coast and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. Jessica is also currently studying her Masters of Law focussing on Property law. She was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2025 and is a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Sunshine Coast Law Association.
Jessica has worked at various firms on the Sunshine Coast, first as a conveyancing paralegal, and then as a solicitor.
In February 2026, Jessica joined the Horizon Legal Group team. What sets Jessica apart is her practical mindset, ability to manage competing deadlines with care and
efficiency, and her calm demeanour.
Jessica is based at our Maleny office, and services clients throughout Queensland, practising exclusively in the areas of property and commercial law, including leasing, subdivisions, business sales/purchases, retirement living transactions and Seller Disclosure Statements. Jessica also guides and mentors our conveyancing team.

Law Graduate
Jazmin Robinson
Jazmin has been part of the Horizon Team since early 2023 and has recently graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor of Laws. She is currently undertaking her Practical Legal Training with the College of Law before admission in the Supreme Court.
​
Based at our Caboolture office, Jazmin is a well organised and dedicated team member who ensures her work is completed promptly and professionally. Jazmin works predominantly with our corporate conveyancing clients, as well as residential conveyancing, retirement living, and Seller Disclosure Statements.

Stella Pestrin
Having worked in the real estate industry, Stella is well versed in all aspects of buying and selling property. Her commitment to providing strong client service with common sense approach is appreciated amongst clients and agents alike.

Stella is a remote team member, and has vast knowledge of property throughout South East Queensland, from Stanthorpe to Moreton Bay and up to the Fraser Coast/Wide Bay areas. She is highly regarded amongst clients, agents, and other legal professionals for her care, communication and dedication to her clients on conveyancing matters.

Paralegal - Estate Administration
Anita Cox
Anita brings 30 years of experience in the legal industry, and is a highly valued team member. With Horizon Legal Group. Anita works closely with Elisabeth Roeland, and focuses on all aspects of Estate Administration, including Probate Applications through to final distribution.
Known for her efficiency and organizational skills, Anita ensures that every matter is completed in a timely manner and with diligence. Anita takes pride in delivering exceptional quality and service to her clients.
