Principal
Penny McCreery
Meet our Principal, Penny McCreery, who embarked on her legal journey in 2000, starting as a legal secretary and conveyancing clerk. Over the years, she honed her expertise by working with major banks in mortgage conveyancing.

Penny's dedication to her legal career led her to complete her Bachelor of Laws at USQ and her Post Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice at QUT in 2016. In 2017, she was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court.

Penny's legal journey took her to regional areas such as Maryborough, Childers, and Bundaberg, where she tackled a diverse range of legal matters, including property law, criminal law, business sales and purchases, family law, and wills and estates.

In 2019, Penny made the move to Brisbane, briefly delving into criminal law again before joining Lember & Williams (now Horizon Legal Group) in 2020. Her commitment to the firm led her to acquire the business in 2022, solidifying her role as a leading legal professional.

Today, Penny primarily focuses on assisting clients with their Property law matters and Estate planning requirements. She supervises our conveyancing department, whilst also assisting clients with their succession planning requirements including Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorneys, and company and Family Trust succession arrangements. Her background in deceased estates, commercial and property matters ensures that she is well placed to provide comprehensive estate planning solutions for clients from all walks of life.
Solicitor
Elisabeth Roeland
Elisabeth is an admitted solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland, a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Sunshine Coast Law Association.
Elisabeth first began her legal career in Rockhampton in 2014 working as an administrative assistant in criminal law firm. She returned to the Sunshine Coast in 2017 shortly before the birth of her daughter where she truly learnt the art of time management – juggling the demands of full time work, part time studies and solo parenting. Upon her return to the Coast, Elisabeth gained experience in the areas of Wills and Estates and Family Law before finding her place in Civil Litigation and Disputes in 2021 as a Law Graduate.
Elisabeth joined the team at Horizon Legal Group in October 2023 and heads up the Estate Litigation and Civil Disputes division.

Solicitor
Brianna Roe
Brianna Roe holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business (International Business) from the University of the Sunshine Coast and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. Brianna was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2021 and is a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Sunshine Coast Law Association.
Starting her legal journey on the Sunshine Coast in 2021, Brianna advanced from a law graduate to a solicitor specialising in wills, enduring powers of attorney, and succession planning. Brianna also gained experience in estate administration and commercial law.
In May 2024, Brianna joined Horizon Legal Group. Brianna brings a dedication to client-focused solutions and meticulous attention to detail on every matter. Brianna shares her time between our Maleny office and our Caboolture office, and predominantly practises in the areas of estate planning (including complex wills and testamentary trusts), property development, and business sales/purchases.

Law Graduate
Jazmin Robinson
Jazmin has been part of the Horizon Team since the 2023 and has recently graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor of Laws. She is currently undertaking her Practical Legal Training before admission in the Supreme Court.

Based at our Caboolture office, Jazmin is a well organised and dedicated team member who ensures her work is completed promptly and professionally. Jazmin works predominantly with our corporate conveyancing clients, as well as conveyancing for off the plan matters, retirement villages & over 50's parks, and Seller Disclosure Statements.

Janelle Mitchell
Janelle is a highly regarded conveyancing paralegal with more than 15 years experience across Queensland and Tasmania. Her dedication to providing exceptional client service and accurate advice makes her a valuable member of our team.

As a remote team member, Janelle has built a strong reputation within the Gold Coast and Capricornia communities amongst clients, agents and other legal professionals for her professionalism and reliability on conveyancing matters.

Stella Pestrin
Having worked in the real estate industry for many years, Stella is well versed in all aspects of buying and selling property. Her commitment to providing strong client service with common sense approach is appreciated amongst clients and agents alike.

Stella is a remote team member, and has vast knowledge of property within the Fraser Coast and Wide Bay areas. She is highly regarded amongst clients, agents, and other legal professionals for her care, communication and dedication to her clients on conveyancing matters.

Anita Cox
Anita brings 30 years of experience in the legal industry, and is a highly valued team member. With Horizon Legal Group, she primarily focuses on all aspects of Estate Administration, including Probate Applications through to final distribution.
Known for her efficiency and organizational skills, she ensures that every task is completed in a timely manner and with diligence.

Maddy Worton
Maddy completed a Bachelor of Laws in the UK and was admitted to the UK legal profession in 2016 where she practiced predominantly in property law.
​
Having made the move to Australia, Maddy has settled on the Sunshine Coast and joined the Horizon Legal Group team as a paralegal. Maddy is highly efficient and organised, and provides exceptional client service.
